Chapter 57

Clary was taken aback by the question. “Excuse me?” She asked, wanting to make sure that she had heard exactly what she thought she had heard. 

“Don’t do that, don’t do that, Clary.” Selena walked closer to the omega and shook her head slowly. She played with the tips of her hair as she eyed Clary very closely. 

“I mean I heard you, but I, um, I don’t really understand.” 

“You think you get to be happy after what you did?” 

“What did I do?” Clary took a step back in fear. She could see the anger brewing in Selena’s eyes. 

“You ruined everything!” Selena snapped. “You came from the dumpster of a life that you had, walked into our lives, and ruined it all!” She moved her arms dramatically to add to the flare. 

Clary knew that arguing was not the best response to the situation that she was in. She knew that if she said even the wrong thing, she could be badly hurt by Selena. Or maybe not.
