Clary took a few seconds to chew mentally on the information that she had just been told. Did she hear Ace wrong? She needs to make sure. “Selena’s brother? I don’t understand.” 

Ace breathed out a sigh. “Yes, Selena’s brother. His name is Star. Not a lot of people know about him because he was exiled from the pack at the age of twenty-two.” 

Clary decided to sit down. “Why was he exiled and why do you think that he’s the great evil that is coming for our pack?” 

“Star was different. He was very much different from everyone, even when he was born. Unlike normal babies, he did not cry when he was born. And the doctors said that nothing was wrong with him.” 

“Okay?” Clary encouraged Ace to continue. She was still trying to piece together how Selena’s brother was a great evil. 

“His parents hid a lot of things, including the fact that he killed his best friend when he was fourteen years old. He had drowned her in the bathtub.”
