Chapter 23
Again, dad wasn’t willing to tell me anything. He said he preferred to keep me safe than tell me anything. Even after mom practically begged him not to, he was too adamant to listen. However, after I chose not to leave, dad and my mom exchanged looks with each other. They were talking with their eyes, and anytime they did that, it meant that one of them wanted to tell the truth, or the other was pleading for the same truth to be revealed to me.
“I’m waiting. What prophecy?” I looked at mom while asking dad. Mom turned her head away and went back to the chair and sat down.
As I waited for dad to speak, I heard rumbling happening behind me. I turned to see what was going on. Mom had dad’s cabinet scattered as she brought up an old box.
“Dear, please talk,” mom said to him as she held the box. Unable to control himself, dad held my hand and led me to sit on the bed.
