Chapter 26. Early Morning Tantrums
The early morning light peeked through a crack in the curtains, announcing the day. Dim rays of light shone onto the hardwood. The light poured into the window with the morning rain, cascading its memory onto the table adjacent to the window. The light danced, leaving behind shadows of blinds that could not contain it.
She uncovered her body and got out of bed. With sluggish, languid steps, she walked straight to her bathroom and took a shower. Under the shower cap, the warm droplets formed steam as she stood there without moving.
It was Monday again, and she couldn’t be more upset about it. Weekdays used to be her favorites, where she went out and did what she did best. But so many things have changed over the months. How did she let that happen? She loved going to work — sometimes even staying late just to do some extra work, even if she wasn’t going to get a dime out of it. But now, she dreaded weekday mornings and was eager to get through the day and leave the place
