Chapter 115
Briar’s POV
We made it back to the cabin just as the sun began to set, all of us exhausted and on edge. The moment we stepped through the door, Kai suddenly went rigid, his hand flying to his temple.
"Fuck," he muttered, his face contorting in pain.
"What is it?" I asked, moving toward him, but Kylan caught my arm.
"Council signal," he explained grimly. "All three of us are getting it."
"Council signal?" I watched as Kieran and Kylan both winced, their hands going to their heads in the same gesture as Kai.
"Mental summons," Kieran said through gritted teeth. "It’s like having someone drive a spike through your skull until you respond."
"The High Council," Kai clarified, his silver eyes dark with worry. "They oversee all werewolf territories, not just the Lycan kingdoms. This is... not good."
I felt my siren consciousness stirring uneasily.
