Chapter 13. Mate Bond

Snow’s POV

“It’s true. Your brother is my mate.” As soon as those words leave my mouth, Stefan’s face falls, and my heart hurts at the look on his face. I want to hold him and tell him this doesn’t change anything. That he’s still the one I love, but a sharp voice interrupts me.

“Surely this is a mistake, Kol. Look at her. She looks like a mere peasant that was picked from the streets. She is nothing. She can’t be your mate.” The girl who just spoke moves forward and wraps her arms around Kol as she offers me a death stare. She’s dressed in a beautiful gown, and she looks like she’s from a rich family.

I guess that’s one thing rich people have in common, talking down on lesser people.
