After clearing my throat, I replied, "Yesterday you were convinced of that." I held his hand so that he would stop this nice gesture. He was manipulating me with his behavior.

"No, I was angry and hurt. You often say things you don't mean."

I sat up and let go of his hand. It would be easier to concentrate if I was a little bit further away, so I moved to the middle of the bed. That way I was at least a little bit further away from him.

It was best if we cleared this up right away, then we would get it over with. So I started "You're right. There are some contradictions between us. Our behavior makes no sense. As you said yesterday, we are enemies."

"No, we are not enemies. What we have is not friendship either, because it is more than that."

I moved to the edge of the bed, on the opposite side of Aramis. I desperately needed more distance.

I stood up without paying him any more attention. I had nothing to say to him.
