Chapter 289

Logan’s POV

I didn’t answer immediately. My mind was too busy wrestling with the decision I had to make.

On one hand, there was the matter at the warehouse…my men had captured one of Jerulo’s men, a lead we’d been waiting for weeks to get. If I didn’t handle this now, it could set us back significantly.

But on the other hand, there was Isabella. The girl who had been a part of my life in ways no one else had. The girl I had once promised to marry, I had taken her innocence, her virginity.

The girl who, even after all these years, still had the power to make my heart race.

What was she doing back in the country? Why hadn’t she contacted me before now? And why did she sound so urgent, so insistent that I come to her?

I ran a hand through my hair, frustration bubbling under the surface. I hated feeling like this…torn, not sure.
