Logan’s POV

“Are you hiding something from me Isabella?” I asked with a cool but harsh voice.

“And why would I hide anything from you?”

“Don’t you dare answer me with a question!” I barked at her and I watched her shiver.

The tension between Isabella and me was thick, and her sudden admission from earlier replayed in my mind like a haunting echo. I couldn’t ignore it anymore.

What could she be hiding?

Why can’t she just tell me what she was hiding or what was in her mind.?

I sat up in bed, running a hand through my hair as I turned to her. “Isabella,” I said, my voice firmer this time, “for the last time are you hiding something from me?”

She froze, her hand halfway to reaching for her phone. Her eyes darted to mine, wide with surprise, and for a moment, I thought she might deny it.

“Why would you ask that?” she said, her tone light but unconvincing.

I tilted my head, refusing to let her evade the question.
