Chapter 527

Jason’s POV

I froze in the doorway, my eyes darting around the room in a frantic search for Layla. She was nowhere to be found. My heart beats against my chest as panic grips me. 

Where was she? She had been fine just a short while ago. I couldn’t fathom what could have happened so suddenly.

"Layla?" I called out, my voice sounding hollow in the silence of the room. No answer.

I quickly rushed toward the bathroom door, my hand shaking as I turned the knob. Empty. She wasn’t in there either. I felt a sense of dread wash over me, like a cold wave crashing over my entire body. 

My breath quickened as I rushed back into the room, my eyes scanning every corner, desperate to find any sign of her.

My gaze shifted to the baby crib, where little Jason…our son…lay peacefully, completely unaware of the chaos unfolding. I rushed over to him, my heart still pounding. At least he was safe. At least he was still here. But where was Lay
