Isabella’s POV

And I knew that if he thought for even a second that Logan might find her, he would move heaven and earth to protect her. That part worked in my favor, but it also terrified me.

What if Jason gets to Layla before I can figure out my next move? What if he starts putting things together? My pulse quickened, the thought of Jason discovering the truth making my chest tighten. 

He wasn’t stupid. If he spent enough time around Layla, he might start to see the cracks in the story I’d woven.

I stood abruptly, pacing the room. Think, Isabella, think. I had to stay ahead of both Jason and Logan, keep them distracted and focused on each other while I figured out how to finish what I’d started. But how?
