Jason’s POV

I ran a hand through my hair, the frustration bubbling over. I had spent so much time trying to be there for her, trying to show her that I was the one she could rely on. 

But it always came back to him. Logan was the ghost I could never escape, the shadow that loomed over everything.

I stood up abruptly, unable to sit still any longer. I needed to do something, anything, to take control of the situation. I grabbed my jacket and keys, my mind racing. 

If Logan was really on the verge of finding out about Layla, I couldn’t just sit here and let it happen. I had to get to the hospital, and I had to make sure she was safe.

But as I headed for the door, a part of me hesitated. What if Isabella was wrong? What if she was just stirring the pot, trying to manipulate me for reasons I didn’t fully understand? I didn’t trust her, not completely.
