Layla’s POV

And now, as if the universe was playing a cruel joke on me, he was standing right in front of me.

I froze.

Every muscle in my body locked in place, my heart hammering so violently against my ribs that I was sure it would give out.

It was him.

The same man.

The stranger from the plane.

Standing there, right in front of me, in this hospital, as if he had been plucked straight from my thoughts and placed into my reality.

His eyes met mine.

And in that moment, I knew…I just knew…that this was not the first time we had crossed paths.

Even if I couldn’t remember when.

Even if I couldn’t remember how.

I was still frozen, staring at Logan as his name echoed in my head. It felt… right. 

Familiar, somehow, as if I had always known it. As if hearing it now was just confirming something I had already known deep down.

But that was impossible, wasn’t it?
