I didn’t care what I had to do or how far I had to go. I would protect Layla from him, even if it meant tearing them apart.

I owed her that much. I owed her my loyalty, my love, my protection. She wasn’t just my best friend—she was like a sister. And I’d do whatever it took to keep her safe, no matter what.

I could still remember the broken girl she was when we finally found her. I could still hear her sobs echoing in my head, the haunted look in her eyes as she tried to piece together who she was. 

She lost everything…her memories, her identity, her sense of self. And Logan… he wasn’t there to pick up the pieces. He wasn’t there to hold her hand and guide her back to herself.
