He knew better. He was too young, too small to just disappear without a trace.
Unless…No. I refused to let my mind go there. I refused to believe someone had taken him.
But then where was he?
My feet moved before I could process what I was doing. I ran straight for the front door, flinging it open and stepping out into the hallway.
My eyes landed on the apartment directly across from ours…Jason’s apartment.
I didn’t hesitate. I sprinted forward and banged on the door. “Jason!” I shouted, my voice frantic. “Open up! Please!”

I pounded on the door again, harder this time. “Jason! I swear, if you’re in there, open this damn door right now!”

My hands curled into fists as frustration and fear twisted inside me. I banged on the door once more, my breathing ragged. Just as I was about to scream his name again, the door finally creaked open.
