Maxine’s POV

He paused, waiting for me to adjust to his length before he began to move. He thrusted into me until I was screaming his name, not even worried that the neighbours would be able to hear me.

The next morning, I woke up to the other side of the bed being empty. I sat up, wrapping the blanket around my chest. He left me.

I heard the toilet flush before the bathroom door flung open. Liam walked out and glanced at me.

"Did I wake you?" He asked. I shook my head. He sat on the edge of the bed and began to put on his socks.

"Good morning," I greeted when he didn't say anything else.

"I didn't tell you what I did with Alistar because I wanted you to do this. I told you because I didn't want you to think I was a terrible person or that you couldn't come to me for help." Liam said, his back turned to me.

I realized with a skip of my heartbeat that this was Liam being truthful to me. Being vulnerable. Being nice.
