Maxine’s POV

Nancy nodded. "Because of Maxine, we could get this job. Who knows if we can get another job like this?" She said, equally sad.

"Let's cheer up," I said, "Who knows, something better could come our way. It's not time to give up."

"You're always so optimistic," Nancy said but she offered a small smile. "But you're right." She huffed loudly. "We can get another job if we work harder. Even if it means working with the humans!"

Katelyn nodded. "Even if it means working with humans." She agreed.

I smiled. Working around humans, there was the risk of being found out. Especially with wolves who heal quickly. They would be exposed the moment they were hurt.

As we walked away, they were suddenly reminded. "Oh yes, you moved out!" Nancy exclaimed.

"Yes," I smiled. "I saw a better place."

"Invite us over one day."

"I will." I replied and stopped. "I'm going this other way. I'll see you guys soon. Take care!"
