Chapter 120
Liam's POV
The sun was beginning to set as I left Maxine in her office and headed for the stairs. I grunted, feeling the loss of her warmth and the need to get buried deep inside her.
"Alpha Liam!" a voice called out, the urgency unmistakable.
I recognized the young werewolf running towards me, his eyes wide with panic. "Alpha," he gasped, barely able to catch his breath. "There's trouble at the southern border. Hunters... they've breached our territory."
"I've heard. Sound the alarm. Gather the pack," I commanded, my voice steady.
The young werewolf nodded hastily and hurried off, leaving me to quickly head to my room and prepare for what lay ahead.
Downstairs, the pack was assembling. Werewolves of all ages and sizes gathered, preparing with a sense of determination and resolve. They looked to me for guidance and instruction. Their trust in whatever I decide was usually what moved me.
