Then once again, I heard him say a few words and then start humming. He went silent and his hand glided around my back, but still staying in the lower back area.

After a while, he stopped and pushed on my back with his thumb. "I see…" he said.

"What do you see?" I asked.

"The energy from the artifact is becoming one with yours," Alaric announced as he removed his hand from my lower back and I pulled my shirt down. I moved away from him to sit next to Liam.
