Maxine’s POV

"Look around. What do you see?"

"Nothing."

"Wrong." He replied, "It's white as far as our eyes can go. Which means it's an untouched area in your mind. You let me stay, Maxine. Because you created the space for me."

I furrowed my brows. "I'm letting you stay? It doesn't make any sense."

"I can't give you the answers you want, Maxine. I can only tell you for sure that I'm not leaving because you don't want me to. There's something within you that needs my help." He explained.

"I need you?" I scoffed. "You're making life so much harder for me. It's like I'm fighting myself. I'm fighting you."

"You're not fighting. You're scared. You're scared of seeing what you're capable of with this power." I was silent. "You need me. I hope you find out why."

"And you're staying because I want you to?"

"Your time with me is over. Any second longer and you will die, passing on to the great beyond." He suddenly said,
