Maxine’s POV

The journey to the Luna Queen's territory was long. I gathered the strength to push forward because despite how busy Liam was, he was still showing up for me.

We had to go to the Luna Queen's personal palace. We arrived at the palace, a magnificent structure surrounded by large green forests and a glittering lake.

We were escorted to the Luna Queen's chamber, a grand room adorned with tapestries depicting the history of our kind. The Luna Queen herself was an imposing figure. Her eyes, a piercing blue, seemed to see right through me.

"Welcome," she said, her voice oddly soothing. "I understand you seek answers about an ancient artifact."

I stepped forward. "Yes, Your Majesty. The artifact released a powerful energy that... changed me. I need to understand what it did and how to control it."

The Luna Queen studied me for a moment, then nodded. "Show me your hand."
