Chapter 7

A while later, Liam returned with another push tray that had a pitcher of iced tea and two glass cups on it.

“I have brought you refreshments,” he smiled at me.

I nodded at him. Liam then proceeded to pour me a glass of iced tea before bringing it over to me.

“You had a late lunch; do you want to wait awhile before I bring you dinner?” he inquired.

“That is fine,” I agreed.

Liam then went back over to the push tray and grabbed something from the bottom shelf of the push tray.

“I brought you some reading material,” Liam said as he put several books and a stack of magazines on the bed for me. “Please let me know if you need anything else, and I will do my best to accommodate you,” he continued to smile at me.

I glared at him. “Why be so accommodating to a simple servant like me?” I challenged.

This seemed to surprise the Beta. His smile faded as he obviously became uncomfortable.

“I apologize. It is not my place to tell you that,”
