Chapter 8

The next morning, I immediately looked for Brent because he wasn't by my side. I thought the man went shopping because he likes to cook seafood every morning.

“Brent?” I asked Marian when I caught her in the kitchen and cooked a champorado for me.

“Did he come home? I didn't notice his car in the garage,” answered Marian.

“He went home for a while but came back right away because there was something he left in the van. I don't know what kind of item is it but he said it’s important,” I complained to Marian, but the woman suddenly burst out laughing.

“You're smart Kylie, so you already know what Brent means.”

“He better be careful, Marian, because once I confirmed everything, only his tongue will be saved!”

“There you are again, all chatter and no action. So Brent got used to that because you just let him,” Marian added.

“Yes, it's my fault, Marian.”

My brain is messed up so I need to get some fresh air outs
