Chapter 20

Settle Down

Every morning I feel sadness in this mansion. I rarely see Don Juanito. I also avoid crossing paths with Ezekiel. But now it seems I can't avoid them. I stayed quiet and didn't say a word. I don't have the right to speak. I shouldn't make my presence felt in this mansion.

I am the reason why Seniora Patricia died. She was right before me, but I didn't do anything. My conscience still haunts me. There is no night that I don't cry while I call Manuel on the cell phone. I can also feel the sadness in Manuel's voice.

Manuel has been gone for four days. I understand because Don Juanito chose to rest here in the mansion. I know he doesn't want to leave Patricia's presence. So Manuel is the one who runs all their businesses, even the company.

We were at the dining table. I couldn't look at them. Don Juanito was by my side, and we were facing Ezekiel and the woman I saw on his cell phone. How many days has this girl been here?

This girl is beautiful
