Chapter 18

Rose’s POV

To my surprise the maids kept quiet and went about their respective tasks. I blinked in shock. They were not my roommates, so how come Bella commanded such respect?

It didn’t make sense one bit.

“Rose, leave that and follow me,” she said softly.

I shook my head at that. There was no way I would be leaving this spot. The whole thing was going to be my downfall if needed, and I just couldn’t take risks.

“What are you waiting for?” she asked calmly.

“Matilda told me to do this, and it would be problematic for me if I abandon the work that she sent me to do,” I said quietly.

Bella rolled her eyes at me. “She can bloody do it herself, come with me.”

When I stayed where I was, she moved forward and grabbed me by the arm as she led me out of the kitchen and towards the lounge. I blinked in shock. I opened my mouth to tell her that none of this looked like a nice idea, but nothing would come out.
