Alpha Kanen’s POV

“Are you awake?”

“Can you hear me?”

“Say something.”

My eyes slowly opened and I caught Malone and Doctor Derek looking right at me. Their faces were enhanced with worry, and my heart clutched lightly. I felt so weak. Malone came over and tried to help me sit up. I felt so weak to my knees.

“You scared me, Alpha,” he said softly.

I sighed. “I need to go home. It’s nice that you came when you did.”

He shook his head at me. “You’re my Alpha and best friend. I would always be there for you, no matter what. I think I have told you this before. To me, the most important thing is that you’re well and there is no illness in your body. We have to do something about this,” he said softly.

I smiled lightly, though I felt nothing amusing, but I didn’t want Malone to hound me more than it was needed. I was already feeling down, and his pressure would make it worse. It was what I was avoiding. I couldn’t let anything go wro
