Eleanor's POV

“Shut your mouth!” Ethan yelled at me, placing a finger across his lips, as he turned to look at me, giving me a fierce look. My whole body trembled from the fear of what I had seen. I could not get my eyes off Mara, as she lay there on the floor. How could he be this wicked? I thought. My heart pounded harder as I breathed heavily. I felt as if I was running out of breath. I felt a lump growing in my throat, and each time I tried to swallow it, it only grew bigger.

“You think I would really forgive her? And let her go?” He asked slowly in a low tone as he chucked, heaving a sigh. I sat there, trying to catch my breath as I breathed heavily.
