Chapter 49

Eleanor’s POV

I hurried down home after I saw the news on the billboard, I was scared and hoping it wasn't what I thought it was. My heart was racing and my body trembling as I walked up the stairs.

"Zora!" I called out to Zora immediately after I entered the house, she was sitting on the couch with a worried look on her face.

"Eli!" Zora said immediately after she heard my voice, she ran towards me and gave me a tight hug, I could see how tense she was and I guessed it was about the lady who went missing.

"You saw the news right?" I said to her after we broke out of the hug.

"Yes Eli, I saw it" Zora replied sadly leading my hands to the couch and we both sat down.

"I am scared Zora, it was close to this place," I said as my hands trembled under Zora's. I couldn't shake this feeling of uneasiness I was feeling.

"This wasn't the first Eli, she wasn't the first," Zora said sadly as she held onto my hands tightly as if trying to comfort herself
