POV: Shea Vestine-Thorne

She was deeply rooted to the ground, with her face dripping with tears.

“W-What is going on, D-Denver?!” Her voice cracked as she ignored Lexi’s words.

She wanted to know – even though it would eventually hurt her. Even if she was so scared that she might lose Denver anytime soon. The pain was excruciating. It was piercing her heart, but no matter how much it hurt, it wouldn’t numb her heart.

However, she knew, and could feel it. She could feel that it was not Denver… that this wasn’t her husband… and that it was just the beast – talking and doing things like this. It wasn’t him. Because he couldn’t do something like this to her. He wouldn’t hurt her like this. He loves her, and he wouldn’t dare have a relationship with her own stepsister.
