"Hi!" I greeted Kaden and his smile vanished after he took a moment to scan my figure, and I noticed his Adam's apple move as he swallowed hard. My attention was not on the darkening of his gaze; rather, I was focused on his presence, which instantly lifted my spirits.

I swiftly opened the window, a smile on my face as I pushed the heavy glass upward, creating enough space for him to enter my room. Without any hesitation, he moved closer and then stopped directly in front of me. His fingers grazing thoughtfully against his chin as his eyes fixated on my face.

“What kind of sleepwear is that?” he asked, his brows furrowed as he raked his eyes over my body.

“Kaden, you're here!” I ignored his question, letting out a joyful scream as I leaped into his arms, wrapping him in a tight embrace. He hesitated for a moment before hugging me back, taking deep breaths while I felt the rhythm of his heart beating against my chest.
