"Candice!" I heard Kaden calling me, so I forced myself to run faster, even though I've never been the athletic type. I was always the one sitting pretty in class, and my dad was never keen on me getting involved in sports. But right now, the adrenaline was pumping, and it felt like I was flying as I fled away from Kaden.

I had no clue where I was headed. My phone was dead, so I couldn't call anyone for a ride.

I kept going until I hit the end of the street and finally collapsed, completely worn out.
