Chapter 17. Get Onto All Fours

Lilly’s POV

A warm, painful sensation surged through my body, making everything around me slow down abruptly. I could hear my heart thundering in my ears as I struggled to comprehend what was happening. The world blurred, colors melting together as I fought to regain my focus.

The beast sank his canines deeper into my flesh, the pain intensifying with every second. As the searing agony escalated, instinct took over—I twisted my body in a desperate attempt to break free, but it was futile. He didn’t even flinch. He was far stronger than my frail human form.

Is this how I’ll meet my end? Torn apart by a half-wolf monster?

I’d never encountered such a grotesque wolf before. He looked, moved, and behaved unlike any I had ever known. His eyes, glowing with unsettling intelligence, pierced through me as if he could sense my fear.

What on earth was he?

He withdrew his canines as swiftly as he’d sunk them in and stepped back.

What was he wait
