Chapter 51. Creature
Lilly’s POV
“No, no, no!” Doug cried out. “Tell me what to do!”
Rachel’s eyes rolled back, and her body went limp. Panic surged through the room as Doug frantically searched for a pulse.
“There must be…” he muttered quietly. He pulled Rachel into his arms and rushed outside.
Their once-beautiful home lay in ruins. Doug seemed oblivious to the destruction. He carried Rachel outside under the rising blood moon.
The eerie light cast everything in a crimson hue, creating ominous shadows around them.
Doug’s desperation intensified; he felt the weight of their shattered world pressing down on him as he set Rachel down, but all that mattered was saving his family.
“Goddess,” he muttered, looking up at the sky. “Spare my wife’s and babies’ lives… take mine instead.”
In mere seconds, a massive monster emerged from the treeline, and Doug froze.
“Haven’t you done enough damage in one night?” he roared in frustration a moment later. “
