Chapter 14
Summer POV
We worked at the pack house again the next day. There was still a lot of unpacking, and a lot of flowers to take care of. I barely saw Ezra today. When I did see him, I couldn’t help holding his stare a little longer. The urges to hold him and kiss him were strong but we couldn’t do that out in the open. We needed the shadows to keep us safe at least for now.
Lettie sighed heavily as she settled on the floor next to me. I couldn’t wash any more dishes. The ball was in two days and some of the preparations were running late because Rachel kept forgetting to order things but she didn’t forget to go out on lunch dates with Ezra under the pretence of discussing the Crescent Moonball.
Hunter told me the caterer hadn’t been booked yet.
