Chapter 37. Mistress of Deceit

Fear was my greatest enemy at the moment. I didn’t know what to do. Whoever this man was, I knew it wouldn’t be easy to win him over. He may have been Lucas’s doctor and certainly wouldn’t favor me.

“Come on, let’s buy some time till the female doctor gets here,” my mother whispered, and my eyes narrowed at her.

“How? The doctor is already here,” I asked.

“Follow my goddamn lead, girl,” she said, and I nodded. I was ready to do anything to escape this situation at the moment.

“What should I do?” I asked.

“What is going on? Can someone open the goddamn door?” Lucas yelled from outside.

“Hold on a moment. She needs to take off her clothes and bathe. She smells like shit,” my mother yelled out.

“Okay, we will be waiting,” Lucas responded, a
