Chapter 36. Fear of the Truth

I was left frozen where I stood, the crowd jubilated, as everyone congratulated me. I forced a smile on my face as I smiled and greeted everyone with a fake smile pasted on my face.

I was so lost in greeting, that I didn't observe the hands that wrapped around my waist, I turned to find Lucas.

“My lady,” he said and he picked up my hands and kissed it.

“Lucas, why didn't you….” I tried to talk to him about the announcement he just made.

“Not now, love, let's dance,” he said as he led me to the dance floor. My eyes fell on Damien, as he stood dancing with Britney on the dance floor, where he had come from I don't t know, as I couldn't find him since I got here.

“I don't know how to dance,” I said.

“Don't worry I'll show you,” Lucas said as he led the way. He took it easy on me as we danced, it was quiet and peaceful and I did my best to keep the right composure.
