Chapter 60. Pains of Rejection
He looked at me as if I had lost my mind and stepped closer.
“This isn’t the time for games or lies. Are you messing with me, Ariana?” he asked, looking down at me as it began to drizzle.
“No. Under the rain, moon, and stars, this baby is yours, and yours alone,” I whispered. Before I could fully process what happened next, he leaned in and kissed me hard. I responded, letting myself melt into his lips.
He held my hand as he kissed me. My clothes were soaked from the rain, but nothing mattered in that moment—just him and me under the rain. His arms felt right, and nothing else existed.
“Let’s get you into the car before you catch a cold,” he murmured. I held his face, unwilling to move. I didn’t care about a cold as long as I was in his arms.
I got into the car, drenched, and he took the driver’s sea
