Chapter 66. The Path to Revenge
Freya’s eyes bore into me with a mixture of anger and concern.
We sat just moments before I walked down the aisle. We had arrived at the church, and I was currently waiting for someone to come and get me from the car.
I could see that her expression was tense, and I could sense the weight of unspoken thoughts hanging heavily between us. I knew she had something to say, and maybe she was scared to say it, but I wanted to ease the tension between us, as I wasn’t feeling too comfortable.
“Freya, I know you’re upset,” I began, adjusting the veil that partially obscured my view. “But this is my day. Let’s not dwell on this now.” I pleaded with her, and I knew she was upset about Damien, the wedding, and maybe Lucas. I couldn’t tell, but the need to ease the tension was great, and I just had to do it.
She scoffed, her irritation palpable
