Calista’s POV
When Lysandra walked in, I felt nervous and remembered how much she told me that I shouldn’t come back to her once I pursued a relationship with one of the boys.
She looked the same as always—strong, confident, and beautiful. She smiled, but it didn’t reach her eyes.
“Hey,” I greeted her softly as she sat down across from me.
“Hey,” she replied. We both knew this wasn’t going to be a casual dinner.
We ordered our food, but the pleasantries felt hollow. It was clear we were both waiting for the real conversation to begin. Finally, I couldn’t take it anymore.
“Lysandra,” I started, my voice barely above a whisper. “I’m sorry. I’ve been a terrible friend.”
