Chapter 20. This Isn’t Her Fault

Nyla’s POV

I finally met the woman who was responsible for all my pain, I finally met her.

She looked like she was in her mid-fifty, with wavy short brown hair that was made to fall by the side, her hazel eyes full of power and confidence like she could crumble anyone around her. I saw hate in them.

“Let’s head in,” I said lastly inside, the memory of this place was still fresh. The warmth that surrounded the sitting room and the familiar scent filled my nose. It was dim except from the flicker of light from the fire pit and candles. I took in a deep breath with my eyes momentarily shut as I reflected over the memories of this place but it wasn’t too long before Mrs. Mia spoke up.

“You bridge the contract, I can have you thrown to the dungeon with that pup of yours.”

My throat went dry as I watched her in silence.

“You aren’t allowed to sleep with my son. It was stated clearly on the contract but you did.”

My face crumbled with worrie
