Chapter 63. I’m Not Here for Any Argument

I finished breastfeeding Valerie, I knew it was a mistake for me to vent my anger on her. I was hating someone while the other suffered, and I regret it. At least I have someone to hope on to, to live for, but yet I ignored her.

“You went for induced lactation,” Lily said behind me. My daughter was asked to stay in the hospital for more observation before she was discharged.

“Yes,” I said plainly, I knew she must be surprised. She either didn’t want to have a pup. She hated being a mother.

“You will never know what it feels like for a pup to grow inside you.” I swallowed hard, not letting her words get to me. I wanted all of it- the experience of motherhood, pregnancy, all of it- but then I couldn’t experience pregnancy, but I’m given the opportunity to explore motherhood. I want to be a good mother to my daughter.
