“What are you doing?” My mother asked me. I opened up the drawer where I usually keep my revolver.
“There is something I need to take care of by Alan,” I said, loading it up with wolfsbane, and when I was done, I turned to my mother.
“It’s dangerous, Jahon, I don’t want you to hurt yourself. I don’t want to lose you either. I have lost your brother already.”
“Ma, you know I’m doing this to get revenge on him.”
“I don’t want revenge anymore. We have done enough already.” I ached my brows, completely shocked at my mother. Is this my mother? She was the one who pushed me to this. I have nursed the idea of revenge in my heart after my brother died, but then, from what Alan said so far, I began suspecting. I’m on his side because I need his information. I need to act loyal. I need to deal with the real culprit. These folks don’t even care for peasants like me, we are easy to get rid of and shut up with money.
