Evan’s expression shifted. I could see the gears turning in his head.

Kaelan grinned. “Good advice. Now prove you can use it.”

Evan rolled his shoulders and faced Kaelan again, this time with a new focus in his eyes.

This time, when Kaelan struck, Evan didn’t charge blindly. He sidestepped, forcing Kaelan to adjust. He waited, watching for an opening.

And when Kaelan made a move—Evan was ready.

He dodged, twisted, and landed a solid hit to Kaelan’s ribs.

Kaelan staggered back, laughing. “Now that’s more like it.”

Evan grinned, breathing hard. “You’re not so tough, Alpha.”
