The following morning, Kaelan left early for a meeting with some Alphas and top nobles in the Werewolf kingdom.

I made breakfast and ate alone. Then I spent an hour in the library, reading a romance novel.

I read about ten episodes and when I got to the point where the female lead character was framed by her best friend and thrown out of her matrimonial home, I got upset and dropped the book.

I tried to sleep but couldn’t.

I was bored.

Without Kaelan around, the day felt unusually dull. I checked in with some warriors, and even attempted to train. But the sun was blazing and the field was hot.

Nothing could hold my interest.
