Chapter 105. The Elders’ Demands

I didn’t have time to scream as the impact sent us flying so high in the air. A powerful force slammed into me, and everything went black for a moment. Kaelan was still holding my hand when the car exploded so we landed together in a nearby garden.
When I hit the ground, my body ached, but I knew instantly that I wasn’t seriously hurt.
But Kaelan.
I turned my head, and saw him lying a few feet away, groaning. His shoulder didn’t look good.
“Kaelan!” I crawled toward him. He held his right shoulder with his left arm and his face twisted in pain. He was trying to fix his shoulder by himself.
“Stay still,” I ordered, my voice shaking.
He gritted his teeth, trying to endure the pain. “Are you hurt?”
I checked myself out. “Just a few scratches. What about you? You seem hurt.”
Kaelan glanced at his dislocated shoulder and cursed under his breath. “Umm, I think I hurt my shoulder.”
