Chapter 23. We Won’t Fail You Again

I forgot to adjust the window curtains before I went to bed last night. So the sun was able to penetrate the window, and shine directly on my face. I crawled out of the duvet and sat up on the bed. I glanced at the wall clock and noticed that it was already 10:30 in the morning.
Did I actually sleep for twelve hours straight?
The events of yesterday must have really taken its toll on me.
I felt a bit hungry and wanted to mind link Maria for my breakfast but I remembered the incident of yesterday that almost cost me my life.
How was I to ever feel safe again eating from that kitchen?
