Chapter 99. I’m the Heir of Silver Cross

“Are you ready?” Kaelan asked the following morning, after we had breakfast.

I nodded. “Yes I’m ready. I will go check on Evan.”

I hurried to Evan’s room in the visitors lounge and informed him that we were about to leave.

He joined us in the car and we drove to Silver Cross in silence. It was a thirty minute drive but it felt much longer.

I sat in the front seat beside Kaelan, and focused my gaze on the passing trees.

This trip to Silver Cross pack wasn’t something I would have agreed to but having Evan’s interest at heart, I just had to do it.

Evan sat in the back, and watched the scenery, his jaw tight. He hadn’t said much since we left the pack. I knew he was nervous. And I couldn’t blame him.

As Kaelan drove, I stole discreet glances at him. He was quiet and probably planning every move. He wasn’t the type to walk into a situation unprepared.
