Ramon POV
Horror washed over me in a cold wave. “Lake—”
“I know where it is,” Lake continued, and the shame in his voice made my chest ache. “I know the exact location. The layout of the building. The security they have. Everything.”
The implication hit me like a physical blow. Lake had been there. Had gone to that clinic, probably when he was pregnant with Ollie, probably desperate and alone and terrified. He’d been prepared to pay that price to end the pregnancy.
But he hadn’t gone through with it. Because Ollie was here, alive and loved and safe.
“Lake,” I said, pulling him close. “Did you—”
“I didn’t,” he said quickly. “I got to the door, but I couldn’t go in. I couldn’t do it. But Ramon, if Troy went there—if he’s desperate enough to go to that place—we need to find him now.”
