Chapter 26. The Rogue
Daphne’s POV.
I was seated close to the fire, free of the ropes and eye blinds and holding onto a warm metal cup with some weird liquid in it.
The rogue from my pack had ordered the men to stay away from me and not harm me. From the moment he had set his eyes on me, he had made sure I was well taken of and free from harm from his men.
He was busy discussing with two of the men near a huge rock away from the camping ground. The rest of the men hovered around me and ate their dinner.
Soon the rogue came back to me and threw a damp and smelly sweater around my body. It helped keep me warm so I clung to it.
“Are you okay?” He asked concerned. I simply looked at him without uttering a word. I couldn’t quite understand why he was helping me and while it was still confusing to me I couldn’t help but accept his help. I tried to avoid looking straight into his eyes.
“You have nothing to be scared of my girl. You are safe as long as I am here.”
I nodd
