Gracie didn’t understand why she had asked that question. With Henry's silence, even though she could see his face in the shadows flooding the room, she realized that her question was at least strange; what did his personal life matter to her? They barely knew each other... they were together by mere chance. Gracie remembered Henry when he joined the main pack, when she and her father attended the coronation ceremony of the new supreme ALPHA. Henry and the others pledged loyalty and their lives to their Alpha. Henry was so young; she was just a girl back then. Now he was a man, and she was already of marrying age.

His voice revealed no emotion. Gracie couldn’t tell if it was a fact he appreciated or if it saddened him. Perhaps he was just indifferent to it.

“How did you learn the art of archery? As far as I know, females aren’t taught to fight; it’s the task of fathers and husbands to protect them. So how are you so good at it?”
